Woman Charged With Leaving Scene After Hitting Pedestrian In Northern Westchester, Police Say

A 28-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly hitting a pedestrian and then leaving the scene of the accident.

Caitlin White, of Putnam Valley, was arrested by Yorktown Police around 6 p.m., on Thursday, Dec. 19, after responding to the report of a pedestrian hit, said Yorktown Police.

The pedestrian was transported to Westchester Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, White allegedly hit the pedestrian on Lexington Avenue and then left the scene before police arrived. 

Police said White voluntary returned to the scene as the investigation was taking place.

She was charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and released on her own recognizance. 

She is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 23, 2020.
